Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BeerTripping (the “Service”), including our website at beertripping.com and our mobile applications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BeerTripping (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Description of Service
BeerTripping is a platform for craft beer enthusiasts to document, share, and discover brewery trips. The Service allows you to:
- Create and share trip itineraries with photos, maps, and stop-by-stop timelines
- Check in at breweries, taprooms, and other craft beer venues
- Rate and review beers, and track your tasting history
- Discover new venues through our explore and search features
- Save venues to your “On Tap” wishlist for future visits
- Connect with other beer enthusiasts through follows, comments, and reactions
- Access rideshare links for safe transportation to and from venues
3. User Accounts
To use most features of the Service, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:
- Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service to explore venues and plan trips, but you must not document or encourage the consumption of alcohol by minors.
- Accurate information: Provide a valid email address and choose a unique handle (username). You are not required to use your real name.
- Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at support@beertripping.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One account: You may only maintain one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans, manipulate ratings, or inflate engagement is prohibited.
4. User Content
“User Content” means any photos, text, ratings, reviews, comments, trip data, and other materials you submit to the Service.
Ownership
You retain full ownership of your User Content. BeerTripping does not claim ownership over anything you create or upload.
License Grant
By posting User Content to the Service, you grant BeerTripping a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except where your content has been shared by others or is reasonably needed for the operation of the Service (for example, cached copies or backups that are deleted in the ordinary course).
Content Standards
You agree not to post User Content that:
- Is illegal, threatening, abusive, or harassing
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Contains sexually explicit material or graphic violence
- Promotes illegal drug use or underage drinking
- Is deliberately false or misleading (fake venue reviews, fake check-ins)
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these standards, with or without notice.
5. Venue Data
BeerTripping maintains a database of breweries, taprooms, and other craft beer venues. This data comes from a combination of our own research, community contributions, and third-party sources (such as Google Places).
While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantee that venue information — including hours of operation, tap lists, addresses, and contact details — is accurate, complete, or up to date. Always confirm details directly with a venue before visiting, especially for time-sensitive information like hours and events.
If you contribute venue data (corrections, new listings, tap list updates), you grant BeerTripping a perpetual, royalty-free license to use that data as part of the Service.
6. Prohibited Conduct
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Scrape or crawl: Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access, extract, or index data from the Service without our written permission
- Harass or abuse: Stalk, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
- Spam: Send unsolicited messages, post repetitive content, or use the Service for commercial solicitation
- Impersonate: Misrepresent your identity, impersonate another person or venue, or create misleading accounts
- Distribute malware: Upload files or links containing viruses, trojans, or other malicious software
- Circumvent security: Attempt to bypass authentication, access other users' accounts, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities
- Manipulate ratings: Create fake check-ins, inflate or deflate beer or venue ratings, or coordinate rating manipulation
Violations may result in warning, suspension, or permanent termination of your account at our sole discretion.
7. Intellectual Property
The BeerTripping name, logo, visual design, and all software powering the Service are owned by BeerTripping and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
As stated in Section 4, you retain ownership of your User Content. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your content to us.
8. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of data as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with and links to third-party services, including:
- Mapbox for interactive maps and trip visualization
- Google Places as a fallback data source for venue information
- Rideshare services (Uber, Lyft) via deep links for safe transportation
- Social platforms for sharing trip content externally
BeerTripping is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We provide rideshare links as a convenience and safety feature — we are not a transportation provider and have no control over rides booked through third-party apps.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Venue data, hours, or tap lists will be accurate or current
- Maps, directions, or location data will be precise
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
Drink responsibly. BeerTripping is a documentation and discovery platform. We do not promote excessive alcohol consumption. Please know your limits, never drink and drive, and always have a safe way home. The rideshare integration is there for a reason — please use it.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BEERTRIPPING AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO BEERTRIPPING IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. Modifications to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice within the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you should stop using the Service and may request account deletion.
13. Termination
By you: You may delete your account at any time through Settings. Before deleting, you may export your data (trips, photos, check-ins) via the data export feature in Settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention).
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to the Service or other users. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data before termination. In cases of severe violations (such as distributing malware or harassment), we may terminate immediately without notice.
Upon termination, Sections 4 (User Content license for previously shared content), 7 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), and 14 (Governing Law) shall survive.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
